Having signs of depression is an experience most people have had. To fight this and keep oneself mentally strong a nutritious diet is required which is also well balanced. This is what will help the body to overcome any problem both mental and physical. The main food to keep your serotonin levels in place are carbohydrates. Low vitamin E levels also are known to cause depression and this is found in canola oil. There are vitamin E supplements available which could help. Folate which helps in the body’s production of serotonin is found in green vegetables like spinach, peas and fresh vegetables.

The food which we eat should have all the essential nutrients because if it is lacking in any one of them this would cause further deficiencies as some of the vitamins and minerals may not get absorbed in the body. This weakens the body and the mind and it is unable to ward off signs of depression and other problems both mental and physical.
