Signs of Clinical Depression

Clinical Depression is getting common in today’s stressful life. It is a common illness seen in people of all ages and gender. The people suffering from clinical depression show certain signs of depression. The proper knowledge of these signs may help you know if a person is suffering from clinical depression or not. There are certain physical changes observed in such patients as listed below.

    • There is a considerable change in appetite. Patients either eat too less or they start eating much more.
    • The sleep disturbance is a common sign. The patient may suffer from insomnia, oversleeping or may wake up very early.
    • Fatigue is one of the common signs of depression and it occurs due to uneven sleeping and eating habits.
    • Stomachache, headache or any other physical problem, which cannot be clinically treated.

Apart from this there are many behavioral signs that can be seen as the signs of depression. The patient may lose interest in the activities that they enjoyed in past. Such activities can be hobbies, sex, sports or any such activity. The person may find difficulty with his memory, concentration and decision making skills.

The clinical depression patient also suffers from emotional imbalance. He may feel sad and miserable for more than two weeks. The patients start crying on no issues. There are chances that the patient feels guilty, worthless, helpless and hopeless and this can also lead to the thoughts of committing suicide. Hence, it is seen that there are many signs of clinical depression that can help you recognize the patient.
