In our daily life there are many ups and downs which affect our mood. Generally, when we feel down and we are unhappy, this feeling may be termed as Depression. But sadness itself is not the sign of depression, in fact depression is more than the feeling of unhappiness or sadness.
To recognize depression in men is bit difficult than those of women as it is a general belief that men tends to be in more stronger frame of mind and women are usually more expressive of their emotions. However, the signs of depression in men may be the feeling of hopelessness, can’t concentrate on things properly, unable to make decisions, showing lack of interest in daily activities, easy task seems to be very difficult, sleep deprivation, inadequate appetite, feeling of restlessness and signs of fatigue, criticizing oneself for a decision or fault, sudden body aches, pain and more.
The most common signs of depression in men are irritability and losing temper very easily. Expressing thoughts of suicide, sudden increase or starting the use of alcohols, drugs, cigarettes, always blaming someone for something are other signs of depression in men.
However, there is a general feeling that the men’s always tend to deny that they are in trouble or problem, so they become less expressive and it may be uneasy to identify the signs of depression in them. Also, when men are in depression they always speak about the symptoms of the depression rather than their emotions thus making it harder to recognize their inner thoughts.
